Vice President Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has called on all government employees to set aside their differences and to work together in executing the government’s policies. The Vice President made this remark while meeting the government employees of Fuvahmulah, as part of his current visit to the island.
At the meeting, the Vice President said that the government puts in maximum effort to work together with all its employees. He noted that the government workforce was at the front row of implementing government policies, and said that the government needs everyone’s support in efficiently executing the policies.
In his speech, Vice President Jameel said that for the advancement of the public service sector, the public servants’ efficient performance was as important as upgraded public buildings and resources. He also said that the government will put in every effort to protect the workers’ rights.
Highlighting the challenges being faced in the social sector of the country today, the Vice President spoke on the government’s endeavors in building manpower for the health and education sectors, and providing vocational training for youth.
Speaking in this regard, the Vice President said that the education system must be shaped in a way that it would produce competent youth, who were well-suited to taken on the social and economic changes the country was going through.
