Commonwealth Secretary-General’s special envoy Don McKinnon calls on the President

Commonwealth Secretary General’s special envoy Sir Donald McKinnon has paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed.

At the meeting held at the President’s Office this morning, President Waheed said that the government would undertake all necessary measures to ensure a free and fair election.

The President also briefed the Special Envoy on the preliminary steps being taken for the elections.

Sir McKinnon assured the President of the Commonwealth’s assistance during the elections, to ensure a free and fair election.
