President Dr Mohamed Waheed on Tuesday made a stopover visit to Jordan en route to Palestine. During his visit, President Waheed met with the King of Jordan Abdulla II and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.
Discussions at the meeting were mainly focused on issues of concern to the Muslim world and ways to strengthen the existing close ties between the two countries.
President Waheed praised King Abdulla’s efforts to solidify cooperation among Muslim countries and his efforts to bring peace and stability in the region.
The President also invited King Abdulla to make a visit to the Maldives. He also explored possibilities to strengthen ties with Jordan in economic and other fields.
