Commonwealth Secretary General’s special envoy Sir Donald McKinnon has paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed.
At the meeting held at the President’s Office this afternoon, President Waheed said that the government would undertake all necessary measures to ensure a free and fair election.
The President briefed the Special Envoy on the current political status of the country. He also highlighted the political reform needed in the country.
Sir McKinnon discussed with the Preisdent, ways the Commonwealth could extend its support to the Maldives in ensuring a free and fair elections.
