Ambassador of the United States accredited to the Maldives Michele J. Sison has paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed. The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.
At the meeting, discussions were held on the current political and economic state of the Maldives. They also discussed preparations for the upcoming presidential elections in the Maldives.
The President assured that the government would do everything possible to make the elections free and fair. He also stressed the importance of having international elections observers in the country.
Ambassador Sison said the US would give its support and cooperation for the economic and political stability of the Maldives.
