“I was deeply shocked and saddened by the death of President Lech Kaczynski, his wife and all those, including senior government officials, onboard their plane when it crashed in Russia. President Kaczynski will be remembered as a strong statesman who relentlessly stood for the values that he believed would make Poland a more prosperous and happier nation.

As the government and the people of Poland mourn this great national tragedy, the government and the people of the Maldives join me in extending our heartfelt sympathies to you, the government and the people of Poland. Our hearts go out to all those who have lost their loved ones in the accident.”
