President’s Office will tomorrow open nominations for Board of Directors of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) and Commissioner General as well as for Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation.

Application for nominations will be open from 23 March to 5 April 2010.

According to Article 4(d) of Law no 3/2010 (Tax Administration Act), the Board of Directors of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority should comprise of 7 members. The members will be appointed by the President with the approval of the People’s Majlis. Article 8 (a) of the Act states that the Commissioner General and Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation should be appointed by the President with the approval of the People’s Majlis.
