Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Elnur Mammadov paid a courtesy call on Vice President His Excellency Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef. The meeting took place at the President's Office this morning.
At the meeting, the Vice President stated that the launch of the direct flight from the Maldives to Azerbaijan represents a significant milestone for promoting tourism and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Vice President and the Deputy Foreign Minister also discussed ways to enhance both countries' relations and collaborate on areas of mutual interest, including climate change, culture, trade, and tourism.
Diplomatic Relations between Maldives and Azerbaijan was established on June 15, 2006.
