President Dr Mohamed Waheed will officially open the Gaafu Alifu Kooddoo Airport today. The President departed to Gaafu Alifu atoll this morning, to officiate the opening of Kooddoo Airport, and on a tour of some islands in the atoll. First Lady Madam Ilham Hussain will be accompanying the President.
During his visit, the President will also inaugurate the Resource Recovery and Waste Management Center in Vilingili of Gaafu Alifu Atoll, and the Residence Maldives in Falhumaafushi of Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
