President Mohamed Nasheed has yesterday met with Margareta Wahlström, UN Assistant Secretary General for Disaster Risk Reduction and Special Representative of the U.N. Secretary-General.

In the meeting, the President and Ms Wahlström discussed the programs and projects carried out by UN agencies in the Maldives.

Speaking particularly on the issue of adaptation, the President expressed his expectations of "thinking out of the box”.

Moreover, the President and Ms Wahlström discussed the importance of centralising project management in the country to eliminate inefficiencies.
