The cabinet, in today’s meeting, decided to launch a six-month long civic education campaign to encourage communal activities and to increase people’s participation in building responsible citizens for community development. The cabinet made this decision after discussing a paper submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The main areas covered in the campaign include:
- creating a peaceful environment
- strengthening civil society
- creating awareness on the right to information
- creating awareness on human rights
- rehabilitating inmates
- making the police more responsible
- making the public more responsible
