President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka, and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai of Nepal have arrived in Addu City this morning, to attend the Seventeenth SAARC Summit.
Sri Lankan President and First Lady arrived at 8:30, while the Nepalese Prime Minister arrived at 11 this morning.
On arrival at Gan Airport, the Heads of States were received by President Mohamed Nasheed and First Lady Laila Ali.
During the welcoming ceremony held at the airport, the officials were honoured by 7-gun salutes, followed by the national anthems. The officials then inspected Guards of Honour.
