Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed has met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai of Nepal, Prime Minister Jigme Y. Thinley of Bhutan and Prime Minister Disanayaka Mudiyanselage Jayaratne of Sri Lanka.
The Vice President, at separate meetings held with each Head of Government, briefed on the preparations underway for this year’s SAARC Summit, to be held in the Maldives. Discussions were also held on the close bilateral relations that exist between the Maldives and each country, and on ways to further strengthen those relations.
