President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conferred the highest honours at the Maldives Sports Awards 2025.

The awards were presented during a special ceremony organised by the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, held this evening at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE).

The President presented Lifetime Achievement Awards to two distinguished recipients, Mr Moosa Manik and Mr Mohamed Nadeem. He also conferred the Sportswoman of the Year and Sportsman of the Year awards on outstanding athletes in both the Olympic and non-Olympic categories.

Following the presentations, President Dr Muizzu joined the award recipients for a commemorative photograph.

Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef attended the ceremony and presented awards to several recipients, while First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also took part in the presentations.

The Maldives Sports Awards is the most prestigious national ceremony dedicated to recognising and honouring individuals who have rendered distinguished service and continue to contribute to the development of sport in the Maldives. This year’s ceremony celebrated achievements attained in 2024.

The advancement of sports remains a key national priority of the Administration.
