President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Uza Fathimath Dhiyana as the Ambassador of the Maldives to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union.
The President presented Fathimath Dhiyana with her letter of appointment at a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
Fathimath Dhiyana holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania in Australia, a Master of Laws (Law and Political Science) from Osaka University in Japan, and a Master of Laws (International Human Rights Law) from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. She has previously held senior positions in government, the state and at the international level. These include Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Minister of Gender, Family and Human Rights, Attorney General of the Maldives, Member of the People's Majlis, and Member of the People’s Special Majlis.
