In recognition of the International Day of the Girl Child, First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has called for collective efforts to ensure girls are provided with equitable opportunities and their voices are heard and respected.
Taking to her official X account, the First Lady celebrated the courage, brilliance, and compassion demonstrated by girls around the world, describing them as trailblazers who exemplify true resilience through their leadership in communities and strength during times of crisis.
She emphasised the importance of working together to create environments where girls can learn and meaningfully contribute to their societies.
Celebrated annually on 11 October, the International Day of the Girl Child was established by the United Nations to recognise girls' rights and promote their empowerment.
