President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has pledged that the harbour channel project for ADh. Dhidhdhoo Island will commence in November. He made the announcement while addressing residents and senior community members during his ongoing tour of South Ariatholhu.
The meeting, held at the island’s harbour area and attended by members of the Island Council, heads of institutions, and local residents, provided an opportunity for participants to present the island’s most pressing development needs.
Council members and residents highlighted that conditions during the south-west monsoon created significant challenges in using the harbour channel. They also raised concerns over stalled water and sanitation projects on the island.
President Dr Muizzu assured the community that the Government would give due consideration to their concerns, noting that the harbour channel project would commence in November under the Government’s plans to address deteriorating infrastructure.
The President also engaged with Council members on their concerns and outlined his vision for the island’s development. He was accompanied by Cabinet ministers and senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises, who provided updates on ongoing development projects.
