President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the Naalaafushi Island Council, the Women's Development Committee (WDC), and heads of institutions to address the island's most pressing developmental needs.
The meeting was held as part of his ongoing visit to the Atoll to inaugurate Muli Airport and took place at the Secretariat of the Meemu Atoll Council.
During the meeting, participants shared with the President the most urgent issues facing the island. They highlighted challenges arising from inadequate water and sewerage systems, as well as frequent disruptions to the island’s power supply.
Council members also welcomed the President’s encouraging remarks regarding the proposed causeway linking Muli and Naalaafushi. They stated that the project would boost economic opportunities and support the development of ATM facilities and enhanced policing services on the island. Participants expressed their gratitude for the President’s continued attention to developmental projects across the nation.
The President assured those present that efforts would be made to address the issues raised. He was accompanied by Ministers who provided the latest updates on the matters discussed.
