President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met the guesthouse operators of Rasdhoo island in North Ari Atoll.

During the meeting held in the island’s state house, the guesthouse operators expressed their concerns over erosion at the sandbank adjacent to the island. They appealed the Government to conduct an EIA on the area and instill measures to prevent further degradation and protect the area. They further noted the measures that need to be taken to further expand guesthouse operations in the island, as well as the necessity of a US dollar ATM.

Speaking to the guesthouse operators, the President assured that the Administration and relevant agencies will seek resolutions to the issues they had highlighted. He particularly noted that special measures will be enacted to address the issue of sandbank erosion.
