President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has revealed a series of stringent measures to reduce public expenditure, particularly recurring expenses. He made the remarks in a message posted on the social media platform X.

The President outlined the measures, which include reducing the number of political posts within the Administration and scaling back or cancelling unwarranted celebratory events. Notably, President Dr Muizzu announced that this year's Independence Day celebrations would be significantly scaled down, with the exclusion of the usual float procession, official reception, and festivities.
