President Dr Mohamed Muizzu offered condolences today to the family of Ahmed Hafiz, who served the State for more than 33 years.

In a message posted on social media, President Dr Muizzu noted Ahmed Hafiz's substantial contributions to PPM, PNC, and the government, also highlighting his invaluable service to the Maldives' sports. In his message, the President additionally extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for the soul of the deceased.

On May 30, 1981, the late Ahmed Hafiz began working for the State as an Assistant Statistician in the Fisheries Division. Over his 33-year tenure, he held high-level roles in numerous government ministries and served as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation. He was also the recipient of the 1991 National Award of Recognition for Fisheries Service.
