President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Sh. Foakaidhoo Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Milandhoo Council.
At the meeting, members of the Council shared their developmental needs, including establishing a swimming beach, a new building for the Council's Secretariat, and Government support for the Council's initiated project to transition to renewable energy. Additionally, they requested establishing a modern waste management system on the island.
The WDC members noted the significance of restructuring WDC members' pay to allow them to have salaries instead of allowances.
In response, the President stated that the Administration would work towards addressing the points raised by the Council. The Ministers in attendance shared the latest updates on the Government's efforts to address the issues raised by the Council.
