H.E. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and H.E. First Lady Sajidha Mohamed arrived in the Maldives today after concluding their state visit to the People's Republic of China. The visit was made at the invitation of the Chinese President, H.E. Xi Jinping.

This visit was President Dr Muizzu's first state visit to a foreign nation since assuming office in November last year.

On this state visit, President Dr Muizzu and President Xi Jinping led the official talks between the Maldives and the Chinese government. Following the official talks, twenty key agreements were exchanged between the two governments.

The President and First Lady further undertook several engagements and made visits to various establishments, including the President's participation in the Invest Maldives Forum. He also held pivotal meetings in several sectors, fostering greater cultural, economic, and political relations with China.

A delegation of senior government officials accompanied the President and the First Lady on their state visit to China from the 7th to the 13th of this month.
