President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih officially inaugurated the extension building for the healthcare centre on Dhiggaru Island in Meemu Atoll on Sunday afternoon as part of his ongoing visit to the Atoll.

The new wing of the healthcare centre has a public health unit that offers preventive and promotive health services, an administrative space that manages and coordinates the healthcare staff, and a medical store that ensures the availability and quality of essential medicines and supplies.

The new wing would address the challenges of delivering efficient and effective healthcare services to the locals and neighbouring islands. After inaugurating the extension building, President Solih visited the new facility and checked the various sections and equipment.

President Solih’s administration has achieved remarkable milestones in fostering equitable development across all inhabited islands in the country. This includes enhancing the living conditions of citizens and empowering them to live dignified lives.
