The President’s Office will, tomorrow, open applications for the membership of the Elections Commission, the Anti-Corruption Commission and for the post of Prosecutor General. An announcement to that effect will be published in the government gazette. The opportunity to submit application will be open until the 10th of June.
Article 292 of the Constitution states that the Elections Commission, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Prosecutor General should be appointed within sixty days of the first sitting of the first People’s Majlis elected under the current Constitution.
The qualifications of members for the two Commissions and the Prosecutor General will be specified in the announcement.
