H.E. First Lady Fazna Ahmed on Thursday evening met with H.R.H. Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of the King of Bahrain and the President of the Supreme Council for Women.

During the meeting, the First Lady commended Princess Sabeeka for being a strong advocate, role model, and champion of women's rights in Bahrain. She also highlighted her work in promoting gender equality and women's rights, as well as ensuring economic empowerment for women during her tenure as the Chair of the Supreme Council for Women of Bahrain. She said that Princess Sabeeka was an inspiration in promoting women's rights and expressed her passion for advocating for the rights of women and children.

They also discussed the value of life skills and vocational education for girls, as well as potential areas of collaboration.

Before concluding the meeting, the First Lady expressed her hope that Bahrain would support the Maldives in their joint efforts to empower women and facilitate in overcoming the obstacles they face.

The First Lady is currently accompanying H.E. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on a State Visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of the King, H.M. Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
