First Lady Fazna Ahmed has this afternoon visited North Maalhosmadulu Atoll Vaadhoo School and met with the senior officials and administrators of the school. The visit took place as part of the President and First Lady's visit to Vaadhoo Island.

During the meeting, the school's representatives discussed their policies as well as the obstacles they confront in carrying out their everyday duties at the school.

The First Lady emphasised the need to prioritise not only increasing resources but also developing and training human resources. She highlighted higher education opportunities in particular. Further, she noted the importance of improving children's awareness of vital subjects such as career guidance and enhancing teaching skills through additional training.

Vaadhoo School currently has 108 students enrolled between L.K.G. and grade 10. Senior officials at the school took pride that all students who had completed their education and reside on Vaadhoo Island are employed. In response, the First Lady stated that teachers play a pivotal part in such accomplishments and commended the teachers.

The school representatives presented First Lady Fazna a glass bottles to commemorate the No Plastic Campaign. The First Lady gifted two books, on anti-bullying and sexual harassment awareness, to the school library during her visit. She also spent time at the school with students in L.K.G. and U.K.G. classes.
