President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has this morning appointed Dr Mohamed Zahir as a member of the Elections Commission (EC). President Solih presented the letter of appointment to Dr Zahir at a ceremony held at the President's Office this morning, following which he took his oath of office, administered by Uz Hathif Hilmee, the Chief Justice of the High Court.
Dr Mohamed Zahir attained his PhD from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Bangkok, Thailand. He also completed his Master of Business Administration from the Open University in Malaysia. Dr Mohamed Zahir previously served as an Assistant Professor at the Maldives National University (MNU) and filled the Director at the Elections Commission (EC) position.
