President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has extended condolences to the family of the late Ahmed Numan who was serving as the Commissioner General of Customs. President Solih spoke on the phone with the family and expressed that he was deeply saddened by the news and extended heartfelt sympathy and sincere condolences to the members of the family. The President also emphasized on the countless services Ahmed Numan rendered to this government and especially to the Maldives Customs Service.

Ahmed Numan passed away at the age of 47 while in Bangalore, India, last night after being ill for some time.

He was appointed as the Commissioner General of Customs at Ministerial rank on 11th December 2018. The Addu Atoll, Hithadhoo born Numan had previously also served in the government, beginning 29th June 1991. Some of the positions he held includes Radio Technician at Maldives Airports Authority, Assistant Director at the State Electric Company Limited and Chairman at Fenaka Corporation Limited.
