President sends his condolences following the passing away of Former Sri Lankan Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent a message of condolence to the President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa, following the death of Former Sri Lankan Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne.
The President’s message reads as follows:

“Excellency,

It is with great sadness that I learned the passing away of the Former Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, His Excellency D.M. Jayaratne. The Late Prime Minister’s invaluable contributions to national development and reform will be remembered for generations to come.

At this time of national loss, the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in extending our sympathies to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of Sri Lanka.

Please also convey my sincere condolences to the family of Late Prime Minister Jayaratne. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
