President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the Councillors from Hangnaameedhoo Island Council of South Ari Atoll. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.

Discussions at the meeting were focused on the developmental plans of the island and pertinent issues to its residents. Some of the challenges highlighted by the Councillors include those related to utility services, including electricity and sewerage services, waste management, and difficulties in utilising the harbour.

They also noted the need to expand the Health Centre, and other services including police and banking, in addition to other infrastructure projects and youth development.

Speaking at the meeting, President Solih shared the latest updates of the developmental plans of the island. He further assured that the administration would discuss with relevant stakeholders to address the specific queries and concerns raised by the Councillors.
