President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent a message of condolence to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, following the passing away of his brother, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“Your Highness,
It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing away of Your Highness’ beloved brother, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s extensive and varied contributions to the progress and prosperity of the United Arab Emirates will always be remembered fondly.
At this time of grief, the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in extending our sincere condolences to Your Highness, the Ruling Family and the brotherly people of the United Arab Emirates.
Surely to Allah we belong and surely to Him we shall return.”
Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative and brother of the UAE President, passed away on Monday.
