Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with the Councillors from Gulhi Island of Malé Atoll. The meeting, held at the President’s Office this morning, focused on the development plans and concerns about the most pertinent issues and urgent needs faced by the residents of the island.

Councillors from Gulhi Island expressed the need for expediting the ongoing island reclamation project, establishing a water and sanitation network and an urgent need to rectify issues caused by a scarcity of housing for residents. Councillors also emphasized on the importance of an appropriate secretariat building to house the council and stressed the urgency of addressing the issues within the health sector and elevating the overall welfare of the society.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice President stated that the administration would take necessary action after discussing with relevant ministries to address the specific issues and concerns raised by the councillors.
