President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with members of the South Maalhosmadulu Atoll Eydhafushi Councillors and senior officials and high ranking members of the island's institutions.
The meetings took place at the Baa Atoll Eydhafushi Council.
During the meeting, the Councillors and officials shared some of the most urgent and pertinent issues being faced by their constituents, as well as requirements and hindrances for the future development of the island.
The council members pointed to the need to expand the island's harbour; implement housing, electricity and road development projects; and upgrade the island healthcare facility.
The President listened to the council members' concerns and reiterated his commitment to working with line ministries to ameliorate the issues they raised. Further, he updated them on several development initiatives being undertaken by this administration which will be of benefit to the island's residents.
