President Solih meets with the members of the Maldives Olympic Committee

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has this afternoon met with the members of the Maldives Olympic Committee.

At the meeting held at the President’s Office, members of the Maldives Olympic Committee briefed the President regarding the future plans and undertakings of the Committee and held discussions on some of the key issues that need to be addressed.

In this regard, the Committee members especially noted that the Maldives is participating in 10 games at this year’s Indian Ocean Island Games. Moreover, they stated that the Maldives has got the chance to host the Indian Ocean Island Games during the year 2023 and held further discussions on the topic.

The members of the Maldives Olympic Committee also requested the President to allocate land for them to operate their office premise.

During the meeting, members of the Maldives Olympic Committee officially invited the President to the Indian Ocean Island Games which is to be held in Mauritius from 19 July to 28 July 2019.
