The Ambassador of Sri Lanka H.E. Major General (Retd) B.R.W.M.R.A.B Thoradeniya, paid a courtesy call on Vice President Faisal Naseem, this morning at the President’s Office.
During the call, the Vice President welcomed the Ambassador and expressed good wishes from the Government and the people of Maldives to the Government and the people of Sri Lanka.
Emphasizing on the strong bilateral ties that exist between the Maldives and Sri Lanka, the Vice President and the Sri Lanka Ambassador both expressed interest to further strengthen existing relations and to work together to enhance collaborations in areas that are of common benefit to both countries. The Vice President especially highlighted on developing sports like cricket. Further, the Ambassador and the Vice President also noted the benefits of developing the tourism sectors of both countries.
The Vice President and the Ambassador thanked each other for the continuous support relayed between the two countries.
