President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has stated that the key ambition of this administration is to provide and fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people. He made this remark while speaking at the function held today to mark the completion of the beach protection project in Bileffahi Island.
Speaking in this regard, the President stated that this administration puts in every effort to mirror the hopes of youth with regard to national development.
In his speech, President Yameen highlighted that the international media most often describe the Maldives as a developing country, progressing towards a healthy and stable economy. In this regard, the President underlined the various developmental projects being undertaken by this administration.
While addressing the gathering at Bileffahi, the President congratulated the Member of Parliament for Hinnavaru constituency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on his nomination as the Maldives Democratic Party’s candidate for the upcoming Presidential Elections. In his speech, the President called upon everyone to put forth peace and harmony of the country, as we near the Presidential Elections.
Concluding the speech, President Yameen reiterated that this administration will take every measure to resolve the challenges being faced by the people. In addition, he assured that he will help realise the dreams of the Maldivian people.
President Yameen is currently on a two-day tour of some islands in North Miladhummadulu Atoll. During his two-day tour, the President will inaugurate the harbour at Kanditheemu Island, take part in the ceremony to mark the completion of the airport land reclamation and the commencement of the runway project in Funadhoo Island. The President will also inaugurate the sewerage system in Milandhoo Island.
