The new Non-Resident Ambassador of Korea to the Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Lee Heon presented his Letter of Credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom this morning, at the President’s Office.
At the ceremony, the President welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives and congratulated him on the commencement of his term as the Ambassador of Korea to the Maldives.
During the call, the President extended greetings and well wishes from the Government and the people of the Maldives to the National football team of Korea, who won against Germany during yesterday’s match in the World Cup 2018.
President and Ambassador discussed ways to further strengthen existing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations, in the areas of information technology, trade, travel and tourism.
Ambassador Lee Heon expressed his sincere gratitude for receiving him as the Ambassador of Korea to the Maldives, and expressed hope and confidence to continue working closely with the Maldives, and further consolidating the existing relations between the two countries.
The President was accompanied at the call by the Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President’s Office, H.E. Mohamed Naseer and the Foreign Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ahmed Sareer.
