Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Ziyad has presented the first edition of Quran published under the Mus’haf Maldif Project, to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. The mus’haf was presented at a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Tuesday.
The Mus’haf Maldif Project was conducted by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, as part of their effort to provide each Maldivian with a copy of the Quran. The cover and page layouts of the Mus’haf Maldif are based on the stone carvings of the Friday Mosque, Male’. The Mus’haf Maldif Project was carried out with the assistance from Government companies, NGOs, and Maldivian individuals. The Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) of Jeddah, also donated to the project.
