The Chairman of the Majlis A’ Shura of the Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning, at the President’s Office.
During the call, the President conveyed greetings and good wishes from the Government and people of Maldives to the Government and the people of Oman, and in particular to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said. The President also highlighted on the importance of the fraternal relations between the two countries, based on mutual understanding, promotion of Islamic values and the protection of the Islamic Identity.
The President and the Chairman further discussed on areas of further cooperation between the two countries, and expressed hope in the continued cooperation between the People’s Majlis of Maldives and the Majlis A’ Shura of Oman.
The Chairman conveyed appreciation for the warm welcome in the Maldives and expressed his confidence that the relations between the Maldives and Oman would grow from strength to strength in the future.
