New Ambassador of Switzerland accredited to the Maldives, Mr Thomas Litscher, presented his credentials to President Mohamed Nasheed this afternoon.
During the meeting following the presentation of the credentials, President Nasheed congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador and they also spoke on ways to strengthen the existing relations between the both countries in different areas.
During this meeting, the President said the contributions of the former Swiss ambassador to the Maldives, during the democratic reform process. The President also spoke on the governments’ carbon neutral plan.
Ambassador Litscher assured the President of continued assistance of the Swiss government for the development and consolidation of democracy in the Maldives.
The meeting was also attended by Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed.
