Six recipients of National Awards of Honour and nine recipients of National Awards of Recognition will be conferred the awards at the official Republic Day function. President Mohamed Nasheed will present the awards to all the recipients of this year’s awards.
Recipients of Awards of Honour will receive a shield of honour and a badge, while the recipients of Awards of Recognition receive a commemorative plaque and a certificate.
The official Republic Day function will be held on 11 November at Dharubaaruge. The event will begin at 9am. The President will address the nation at the ceremony.
Minister of Home Affairs, Mohamed Shihab will deliver the welcome remarks at the ceremony.
