The new High Commissioner of Pakistan accredited to the Maldives, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Sayed Khawar Ali has presented his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, on Thursday morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Yameen congratulated High Commissioner Sayed Khawar Ali on the commencement of his term.
Speaking at the meeting afterwards, the President and the High Commissioner expressed their hopes of further strengthening the bond between the Maldives and Pakistan in different areas, and assured of their commitment to achieving this.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dunya Maumoon, Legal Affairs Secretary at the President’s Office, Uza. Aishath Bisham, and Undersecretary at the President’s Office, Mohamed Naseer.
