The High Commissioner of Singapore accredited to the Maldives, Dr. Chua Yong Hai has paid his farewell call on Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed. The meeting was held at the President's Office this morning.
At the meeting, the Vice President and the High Commissioner noted the good relations between the Maldives and Singapore, and discussed ways to further enhance relations. The Vice President expressed his appreciation for the High Commissioner’s contribution to strengthen the friendly ties between the two countries, during his tenure. He also conveyed his gratitude to Singapore for their hospitality provided to Maldivians travelling to Singapore.
Dr. Chua said that it was a great pleasure to serve the Maldives as Singapore’s High Commissioner to the Maldives, and reassured the Vice President of Singapore Government’s commitment to continue supporting and assisting the Maldives.
The farewell call was attended by Minister at the President’s Office, Hon. Abdulla Ameen, and Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Aishath Shehenaz.
