The High Commissioner of Singapore accredited to the Maldives, Dr. Chua Yong Hai has paid his farewell call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
During the call, which took place at the President's Office this morning, the President expressed his appreciation for the High Commissioner’s contribution to strengthen the friendly ties that exist between the Maldives and Singapore.
The President and the Ambassador also discussed enhancing the already excellent bilateral and other issues of mutual concern such as countering cybercrimes and religious fundamentalism.
Dr. Chua said that it was a great pleasure to serve the Maldives as Singapore’s High Commissioner to the Maldives, and reassured the President, of the Singapore Government’s commitment to continue supporting and assisting the Maldives.
The farewell call was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dunya Maumoon, and Minister at the President’s Office, Hon. Mohamed Hussain Shareef.
