President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent messages of greetings to President Mamnoon Hussain, and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan, on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
In separate messages, President Yameen extended warm greetings and sincere good wishes of the government and the people of the Maldives, to the people and the government of Pakistan. He has also expressed his hopes for further consolidation of the warm and cordial relations that exist between the Maldives and Pakistan.
Further, the President has extended his good wishes for the progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan.
Pakistan became independent on 14 August 1947.
