In accordance with Article 22 (a) of the Police Act (Law number: 5/2008), President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed three members to the Police Integrity Commission. The newly appointed members are Uz. Ali Nadheem, Ms. Fathimath Sareera Ali Shareef, and Mr. Mohamed Faruhad.
President Yameen presented the letter of appointment to the appointees at a ceremony held at the President’s Office. Fathimath Sareera Ali Shareef was appointed as the President, and Mohamed Faruhad was appointed as the Vice President of the Commission.
Meeting with the members after the appointment ceremony, President Yameen and Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed urged the members to fulfill their responsibilities independently, in a fair and unprejudiced manner.
The meeting was attended by Minister for State at the President’s Office, Uz. Mujuthaz Mohamed.
