President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, have concluded their state visit to the Maldives. The Sri Lankan President and First Lady were seen off at the Malé International Airport by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dunya Maumoon.
During the visit, President Rajapaksa called on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and held official talks between both Governments.
Three important agreements were signed between the Government of Maldives and Sri Lanka during the visit. The three agreements signed were, MoU on Health Cooperation; MoU on Strengthening cooperation between Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and Ministry of Economic Development of Maldives, and the agreement for Arrangement on Search and Rescue
President Yameen and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim hosted a State banquet in honour of the Sri Lankan President and First Lady.
