Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has this evening returned to Male’, on conclusion of an official visit to China, to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd China-South Asia Expo, and the 9th China-South Asia Business Forum.
Meeting the local media at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport upon his arrival, the Vice President stated that the official trip had been successful in furthering opportunities available to the investment, tourism, and renewable energy sectors in the Maldives.
The Vice President further noted that his official trip to China had re-affirmed international interest in investing in the Maldives, and had illuminated future trade opportunities between the Maldives and China.
Commenting on his meeting with the Governor of the Yunnan Province, H.E Mr. Li Jiheng, Vice President Jameel stated that the Governor had assured him of the commitment of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, to work with the Maldives in strengthening areas of cooperation.
