President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has this morning arrived in Tokyo, Japan.
During his visit, the President would meet with His Majesty Emperor Akihito, Prime Minister Shinzō Abe, and other senior Ministers of the Japanese Government, and hold discussions in further improving and expanding the excellent relations between the Maldives and Japan.
The President would also meet with business leaders and potential investors with a view of further expanding economic opportunities for Maldives in Japan.
The President’s visit to Japan is on the invitation of Prime Minister Shinzō Abe.
